A buddy forwarded the following link to me regarding 101 Tips For Improving Children’s Behaviour (http://www.parentingideas.org/articles/discipline/101-tips-for-improving-childrens-behaviour/)
The site www.ParentingIdeas.org is very well done and is well worth bookmarking if you are a parent.
As for some of my permalinks, it looks like my upgrade to WordPress 2.0 kind of had some issues. I am working on them and […]

A local Ottawa guy has a really great website that will help you surprise your family over the holidays. It will take some practice, but with Mark’s instructions, you should be able to Solve the Rubik’s Cube for your family in a reasonable amount of time.

I was at the Kanata Centrum last night and (because a friend - Hi Angela - told me that there was a new kids play structure (similar to Cosmic Adventures) just outside the AMC Cinemas. So, I swung by in search of information.
It has not yet opened, but looks like a […]

I’m kind of lazy. Not sure if lazy is the right word, I just don’t like to do more work than is needed. But I do commit myself to doing enough work that I can’t really label myself as lazy, more of a “quickest path” kind of guy (but not quite enough of […]

Ok. There is no question that this is going to sell many many copies before Christmas. It only makes sense. Wait a year to release the DVD and sell it at a time when people are looking for a good themed gift and a solid choice.
I have to say, I […]

I know, I know, if you want to write a letter to Santa, you can write to:
To: Santa Claus
North Pole H0H 0H0
Canada
*As long as you have your return address, Santa will write back
He also has email now! Just have the kids fill out the online form. It seems to be a bit impersonal, […]

If your kids are young, you might want to have a look at what the malls are doing for Halloween. It is still nice to take the kids out for some good old fashioned Trick or Treating in the neighbourhood, but the malls are offering some great alternatives that your kids may end […]

1.) Don’t forget, Thomas the Tank Engine will be at the St. Laurent Centre Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23 (11am & 2pm both days).
It is being sponsored in part by another great website (although I find their ads very…very annoying), Kaboose Canada.
2.) Ok, I only started using this early in […]

I would like to start out with a statement I have about Saunders Farm: “Saunders Farm is one of the best family oriented gems in the Ottawa area. We are lucky to have such a great attraction so close to us.” Me
The cost of a day for the family is not cheap, BUT, in […]

Kids love Hot Air Balloons! I remember as a kid watching the sky for them. I remember to this day (I was about 5 years old) when about 10 balloons went over our house in Regina, Sask. I ran back into the house and was yelling for my Mom to come and […]

I have always thought highly of Cosmic Adventures. The kids love it and it is a safe environment where they get some great active play time. We recently attended a birthday party hosted there and I can easily say that it is worth the cost! I looked into the party costs on […]

Well, I have to admit that I have read all of the previous Harry Potter books. I think what makes this series of books such good reading for all ages is that everyone can associate with the characters in a different way, almost looking at the characters in the book as you would look […]

A special thank you to Cindy, the girls and Casey for an excellent birthday party!
We found out about Cindy and Camp Run Amok through a friend who had attended a birthday party hosted there before. We are very happy with what was provided, food, cake, plenty of activities, water slide and pool. I am writing […]

My review of Batman Begins (9/10)
Before I get started, let me point out that this movie is rated PG-13 for intense action violence, disturbing images and some thematic elements. This is a much darker Batman (the real Batman!) and there are some scenes that will scare kids. If you are worried that […]

I am always checking out great websites for things to do in Ottawa. I just came across the Ottawa’s Countryside site. It contains information for the rural areas around Ottawa and great things to do within a short drive of Ottawa. They are still working on the site, […]

Wow. That was an amazing ride. I’m not sure how to describe the “experience” of The Polar Express.
I read other reviews that there was a Willy Wonka type feeling to the movie. Although I can certainly see what was meant by the comment, I wouldn’t go that far. I feel that […]

If you have young ones who like to run, jump, climb and slide you should think about taking them to Cosmic Adventures.

LED Christmas lights have been around for a few years, but this is the year you will see them take off! The price has finally come down enough to compete with the traditional incandescent bulbs for cost at the cash register. Where you will save HUGE is on your electricity bill and replacement costs.
These LED […]
