Oceans Day at the Museum of Nature
Kids are fascinated by oceans (how many kids haven’t seen and loved Finding Nemo!?) Head out to the Canadian Museum of Nature for Oceans Day. Here are the details I was able to gather from the Museum’s website and from the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s website. Here is a link to a fun colouring page on the CWF’s website.
Oceans Day Activities at the Canadian Museum of Nature
Tuesday June 7 to Sunday June 12
Museum of Nature, OttawaJoin the Canadian Wildlife Federation and its Oceans Day partners for weeklong activities at the Museum of Nature. Discover underwater creatures and what you can do to help our oceans. Videos, posters, interactive computer stations, and various crafts will be available all week for children of all ages. The museum is free on Saturday morning. (I think it is actually free - donation only - the whole week, based on the admission fee information from the museum’s website.)

May 1 to October 10, 2005 (Thanksgiving Day)
Open: Daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursdays until 8:00 p.m.
Other special display at the museum your kids will love:
Creepy Critters Gallery
3rd floor east
Let the kids learn about the critters living in your backyard. They can
watch live cockroaches, mice, slugs and toads in life-like habitats. This display has the gross but cool factor that kids love!
If you can’t make it out to the museum, why not get some information from the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s website. They have all kinds of great information that you can use to both educate and entertain the kids.
