The Tulip Festival can wait until next weekend…here is an alternative outing and the reason why.
Well, the Tulip Festival kicks off today (Thursday May 5th), but the family/kids entertainment does not really kick off until next weekend (Friday May 13th) (http://www.tulipfestival.ca/en/FamEntertainment/).
The family entertainment takes place mostly at Major’s Hill Park. Next week, I will be listing some of the shows and talent to help you plan your visit.
As for this weekend, maybe check out The Canada Agriculture Museum (http://www.agriculture.technomuses.ca/)
They have some great special events scheduled for Mother’s Day
If you plan to head out Saturday instead, here is what is going on….

The Canadian War Museum opens this weekend as well. It will surely be packed and will be amazing. I think that it is very important for our children to understand how grateful we should be to our veterans. I just want to go through the museum first to see what exhibits to see and which we should wait for until they can understand what they are seeing. If your children are older and can understand and respect what they are seeing, I think this is an excellent outing. Click here for more information on the Grand Opening and Ceremonies. Once I visit, I will be sure to take several pictures and fully express how important I feel this museum is….

Don’t forget about the official season opening of the Parkdale Market and the Hintonburg Tulip celebration–there will be activities for the kids, a plants swap, and lots more to see and do!
