The Country Homes & Cottage Show / Valley Fishing and Outdoors Show
Get ready for summer and time at the lake! There are two shows in and around the city this weekend you might want to take in. Both look promising.
For the fishing and outdoors specific exhibits, take a trip out to Carp (Carp Fairgrounds: Apri 8th, 9th and 10th) for the Valley Fishing and Outdoors Show. Here is an exerpt from their site describing what you can expect.
This years show will be hosting numerous activities for the whole family to enjoy with fishing ponds, casting ponds, archery, shooting and fishing simulators. The water craft section will be expanded as well a larger variety of outdoor exhibits. The show will once again host the second annual National Wild Turkey Provincial / State Calling Competition. The Ottawa Valley Limb Hangers are sponsoring five categories in this one day event.
If you are looking for a larger, more general show with exhibitors related to cottage life in general, you will want to swing by the Country Homes & Cottage Show at Landsdowne Park (April 8th, 9th and 10th). It looks like there might be some pretty cool exhibits for kids, but it might be a little bit too much for your year old.
Anyone who has attended either of these shows in previous years, please post your comments. I and any other readers would appreciate your comments.
