Ottawa Family Fun

I have always thought highly of Cosmic Adventures. The kids love it and it is a safe environment where they get some great active play time. We recently attended a birthday party hosted there and I can easily say that it is worth the cost! I looked into the party costs on the website and found that for what you get, they are very reasonable… (http://cosmicadventures.ca/cosmic/pages/Birthday.html)

I am not saying that it is inexpensive, but good value. The kids have unlimited access to the play area (as long as the hosts are there to sign you in), the party rooms are clean, the food is decent (the pizza is actually excellent, as for the hot dogs, well… a hot dog is a hot dog) The cake was great as well.

The party was well organized and timed very well. Get there as early as you want and let the kids run, climb and slide; announcement that the party room is now ready for your group (you know the time in advance); Enter the room, food is delivered, kids eat, sing Happy Birthday, have cake, open gifts (which cosmic has a process to keep them secure the whole time you are there so that you don’t have to lug Jimmy’s Tonka truck and various other gifts around with you), tokens are handed out and the kids can play the games in the back; at this point, you can let the kids go back into the structures, or you can leave, you have complete use of the facilities (I found that our kids were ready for a break when the party was done…

Advantages I can think of to hosting a Birthday party at Cosmic Adventures:
- Kids get to run and play and have a great time
- Cake is provided for you
- Drinks are provided for you (for the party) you might want to get some water for the kids while they are playing.
- Food (optional) is provided (for the kids…you can always purchase an extra pizza or two for the adults)
- Well organized
- No issues with rain or snow
- You don’t have to worry about a bunch of kids tearing through your house
- You don’t need to be creative to keep the kids busy, just let them loose
- Security. You know that the kids are safe going into and out of cosmic with the system in place
- Safe & Clean - They do a great job keeping this place safe for the kids and clean - which I have to think takes a heck of an effort!
- You don’t have to do the mad house tidy (we all do it) before expecting company. You can leave your home in its natural state. (But since you are not rushing around preparing for the party, you might actually have time to “get organized”. - Added bonus… the kids may go to sleep on the way home so that you can relax!

I cannot reccomend this facility enough. The party we went to was for a 2 year old and there were kids as old as 5 years old at the party. Since the play time was so wide open, the 5 year old was not bored with 2 year old games, but had maximum fun as well.

Please send in your suggestions for other great Birthday Party ideas and experiences (mini-golf, petting zoos, …) I would be more than happy to publish them on the site!
